Vanity Fair x x Plural

TIME FOR FASHION

IN BRIEF

The sesquicentennial party thrown by Vanity Fair in honor of Audemars Piguet was a night of stars and style. During the event, the Vanity Fair team recorded hours and hours of video, but was struck with a simple, massive consideration; how do we edit it down? The found a similarly simple answer. The called on Plural. Our team nimbly ingested the video files and crafted a dozen bespoke assets that captured the energy and luxury of the party and participants. In the end, we met and exceeded Vanity Fair’s expectations and proved that there is no post-production ask too large for our brilliant team.

To celebrate 150 years of Audemars Piguet and their horological excellence, Vanity Fair threw the watchmakers a lavish party featuring sports stars and celebrities from around the world. There, they enjoyed, discussed, and cherished their Audemars Piguet watches. The celebration was luxe and impactful, rightfully befitting a century and a half of top quality design and expression. However, Vanity Fair ran into a problem; all through the fantastic night, they captured footage, terabytes of recordings of the huge event. That much footage was justifiably daunting. Who could be trusted to edit it all into something even greater?

The answer was simple: Plural.

Michaelangleo, when asked about his sculpting process, replied, “I saw the angel in the marble, and carved until I set him free.” Our process was no different. The terabytes of footage we ingested was the marble, and our dozen deliverables, including a hero video, mini interviews, teasers, and more, were the angels we freed.

Working without a hard brief, Plural’s production team was free to take the creative lead on presentation and subject matter. As we developed the creative angle, we stayed nimble and were able to pivot in real time as Vanity Fair floated new ideas for direction or ultimate goals for the content.

In just about four weeks, masterfully translated those raw visuals into a dozen crisp, clear, and gripping videos. Our hero videos showed off the brilliant personalities of the sports stars in attendance, such as Simone Biles and Breanna Stewart, while our guest videos captured the overall vibe of the event and participants.

Athleticism and luxury defined the 150th Anniversary of Audemars Piguet, and Plural embodied these mindsets by staying limber, going the extra mile, and delivering beautiful finished products to Vanity Fair. In some cases, the heavy lifting was literal on our end; we had to carry whole desktop computers from studio to studio to ensure we stayed on top of deadlines and deliverables. The final videos were worth the extra effort, and the team at Vanity Fair was thrilled with Plural’s workflow and determination.

We can’t wait to work together again, and look forward to seeing what the next project entails!
